The unemployment rate in Australia has jumped


The unemployment rate in Australia has jumped unexpectedly in October to 5,4% from 5,1% in September. However, this is not necessarily a sign of economic slowdown, as rising levels was predetermined. In Australia, there was a noticeable jump in the level of economically active population this year from 65.1% to 65.9%, partly reflecting growth in the level of the workforce, which often lags behind economic activity. So in the end it might not be a bad signal.
