Employment picture in the U.S. is still one of the worst on the dynamics of improvement

Application for benefits in the week that ended Nov. 13 amounted to 439 thousand, and repeated applications (for the week ended November 6) was 4.3 million average value of the new weekly applications for 2010 is 463,000, so that showed the last couple weeks (below 440) inspiration (very discreetly). It is said that the application for benefits remain elevated this year. In addition, long-term unemployment situation continued to deteriorate - the number of people with the extension of benefits or compensation for the emergency unemployment rose by another 120,000 in the last week of October to 4.93 million, compared to 4.2 million a year earlier.

The Fed survey suggests increased optimism about the 4 th quarter. Component of business activity in the Philly Fed survey jumped to 22.5 this month, much higher than 1.0, which was in the previous month. Components of new orders and shipments were both strong, and there has been a slight increase in employment. Expectations for the next six months also improved.

Demand for cars in the U.S. this month to stay healthy. According to JD Power, the demand for new cars bought in this month could reach 700 thousand, or about 10 million on an annualized basis, taking into account adjustments for seasonality. It seems that part of the surge in demand was due to pent-up demand.
