Australian two-year high inflation


Recent quarterly data on CPI showed an increase in overall inflation to 3,3% from 2,7% in the previous quarter, and quarterly growth in 1.6% was the strongest in five years. Publication of the newly revived speculation about further rate hikes by the RBA, which has already raised it from 3.0% to 4.75 in less than two years. The dollar again came under pressure during trading in Asia, therefore, not surprising that the Aussie pushed to a new high of 1.0852.
